Environmental Zone Augsburg

Since June 1, 2016 only vehicles with green stickers are permitted to enter the city's low-emission zone.

The low-emission zone is a provision of the clean air plan to reduce pollutants. The initiation of the low-emission zone is being implemented all over Europe as a method of providing for clean air (Environmental Zones in Europe). Augsburg implemented the first stage of the low-emission zone with the ban of through traffic for lorries beginning on July 1, 2009, the second stage on January 1, 2011 and the third stage on June 1, 2016.
