The Mozart family comes from the so-called "Stauden", the idyllic hill country in the south of the district. Hans Fugger, the progenitor of the house of Fugger, lived in the little village "Graben" and immigrated to Augsburg. In 955 the epoch-making "Battle on the Lech-field" near the city of Königsbrunn took place.
