District Aichach-Friedberg

Short discription

"Wittelsbacher country" (Ancestral castle of the bavarian ruling house of Wittelsbach), located between Augsburg and Munich, about 110,000 inhabitants, trade in agriculture and nutrition, wood industry, mechanical engineering. The district is famous for growing asparagus.

Aichach, Affing, Friedberg, Dasing, Mering, Kissing, Pöttmes.



The most important citizens of the district are Duke Max in Bavaria and his daughter "Sisi", the later empress Elisabeth of Austria. Three castles from this time still exist today. Charming old-bavarian landscape, ideal for walking and cycling and old-bavarian pilgrimage churches from the baroque era make your visit worthwhile.
